David and Heather are wonderful hosts. Their passion to provide the guests with empathy and kindness makes you feel like home – even better. Believe me: You will stay longer! Bathroom and bedroom are huge, clean, quiet and in very good shape. Breakfast comes with a unusual variety of delicacies. You will remember the beautiful garden with a whirl pool and even a “secret lounge” overlooking Taupo via

“Heather and David were wonderful hosts and their B&B is beautiful, with stunning views and great amenities. The location is convenient for anything in and around Taupo as well as for day trips to Napier, Matamata, Rotorua, Tongariro, and many other places we didn’t have the time to get to. Would absolutely recommend staying here.”

A wonderful stay! The hosts David and Heather are lovely! Breakfast can be enjoyed on the terrace. The arbor in the garden invites you to end the day with a good glass of wine overlooking Taupo. Room and bathroom are generous. via

Heather and David were so extremely lovely! Our room had the most comfortable bed, and the breakfast spread was indulgent, more than one could possibly ask for. The backyard has a spectacular vista of Lake Taupo, truly magical.

The location was exceptional for me as it was away from the busy town but close enough that i could get to town when i wanted. The views of the lake and the mountains were beautiful and the grounds of the property were welcoming and well kept so i could stay there relaxed. I could just walk out of my room in the morning to listen to birds while walking in the garden or seat on the deck, or watch the sail boat going by on the lake, or take a dip in the hot-tab any time i wanted. My best time was at the hot -tab at night under the stars and the moon above me with a glass of wine in my hand. What could beat that? Another aspect that i really appreciated was the company of the owners who are not just B&B keepers but friendly intellectuals who are interested in knowing their guests and their lives. Thank you for your welcome!

You will not find better hosts or a nicer property. Heather and David set the standard for hosts. The property is just extraordinary and the warmth and friendliness that Heather and David provide are alone a reason to visit New Zealand.

My wife and I stayed at Acacia Heights Gardens in early March 2020 as part of our honeymoon trip in the North Island. Sadly we were only there for 2 nights, and were sad to leave. David and Heather could not have made us feel more welcome and at home with them, they were wonderful hosts. As part of our stay, we did the Tongariro Alpine crossing and their hospitality was typified by the provision of a congratulatory cold beer as we trudged through the door after completing the trek. Hopefully we will get the chance to return to NZ/Taupo and if we do we shall certainly return to Acacia Heights Gardens.

Beautiful views and accommodations! We loved our stay! It was well equipped and exactly what we needed to enjoy our stay. Our hosts were wonderful and have one of the most beautiful gardens. We enjoyed the hot tub after a long day of hiking and driving and it was perfect. The view is beautiful and the amenities were great. We were up early and able to enjoy the sunrise over the lake. It was a perfect get away stay. Thank you.

Stayed 1 night in February 2020 and it was an oasis in the middle of our North Island road trip. Fantastic views, very comfortable room, great shared spaces, lots of choices for breakfast, and an outdoor hot tub! The hosts were both amazing (so was the dog) and to top it all off, we had a cold beer waiting for us in the gazebo after checking in. Absolutely fantastic! Thanks.

We stayed one night only and wished we could have stayed longer. We had a great moment with David and Heather who made us feel like at home. They are very friendly and gave us a. lot of tips about the region to make our stay a memorable one.
