We can thoroughly recommend Lake Taupō Adventures for a fishing adventure on Lake Taupō.
On 27 December 2020 we chartered the boat Bravado belonging to Lake Taupō Adventures for a family fishing trip. Nick Reed is the owner/skipper. The lake is currently underfished, and it has been a great breeding season so there is plenty of fish for all.
We left the Taupō marina at about 11 am and were back at the marina by 2 pm. In that time we landed six good-sized trout, released four small-sized fish and lost one. The largest was about 2.3 kg (just over 5 lb).
It was a wonderful fishing trip. Nick was unobtrusive, courteous and kind. He went out of his way to make the experience as enjoyable as possible for all. He handled the skippering, fish-finding, line-setting, netting and cleaning of the fish himself.
We can thoroughly recommend Lake Taupō Adventures.

My wife and I stayed at Acacia Heights Gardens in early March 2020 as part of our honeymoon trip in the North Island. Sadly we were only there for 2 nights, and were sad to leave. David and Heather could not have made us feel more welcome and at home with them, they were wonderful hosts. As part...
You will not find better hosts or a nicer property. Heather and David set the standard for hosts. The property is just extraordinary and the warmth and friendliness that Heather and David provide are alone a reason to visit New Zealand.
